  Showing grace and mercy and pardoning someone for what they have done wrong
• What does forgiveness do for the Victim?

  release feelings of resentment or vengeance they have towards a person who harmed them
• What does the Quran teach about God to sinners?

• How does God being compassionate and merciful to sinners affect Muslims?

  Muslims believe that they too should be forgiving?

  - help them reintegrate into law abiding society = so they feel they're apart of it + not need to return to life of crime

  working with offenders = help bring them back into the community.

• What is restorative justice?

  a system of criminal justice that focuses on the rehabilitation of offenders through reconciliation with victims.
• What does Restorative justice give victims of crime?

  chance to explain to offender how they've been affected by the crime
• Why is restorative justice important for criminals? 3 points

  - makes them realise effects of their crime

  - brings them face to face with their victims

  - makes the realise that actions can have terrible consequences
• What are Muslims attitudes to Restorative Justice?

  - in favour of Restorative Justice = only way of bringing peace + reconciliation between victim and criminal

  - In Islam, all brothers + sisters should work to help eachother
