  • etymology - shows the evolutions of the word and how it was formed
  • intensive definition - includes the term to be defined , the class to which the term belongs and the characteristic.
  • extensive definition - the extends the definitions formed in the intensive sentence into a paragraph using other techiques
  • consistency exclusiveness completeness - the 3 main principles
  • topic setence Supporting details concluding sentence - The 3 parts of the story.
  • classification - Groups items inti categories to establish a clear distruction between related to similar ideas.
  • comparison and constrast - elaborates on the similarities and differences between two ideas.
  • cause and effect - to discuss the results of a phenomeno, events, feelings or actions.
