Gross, Net and Compensation

• Gross Photosynthesis = Net Photosynthesis + Respiration
• At low light intensities, carbon dioxide given out (evolved) as the rate of respiration exceeds the rate of photosynthesis.

  The light compensation point is the point where there is monkey intake or output of carbon dioxide as the rate of photosynthesis and respiration is the same.

  
• Respirstoiom takes place throughout the 24 hour period and is not stricter to the times where the line drops below 0, the line above 0 shows the net intake of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide taken in by the plant above that produced in respiration representing net photosynthesis
