Privatisation of Education

• Privatisation refers to the process of transferring public assets such as schools to private companies
• Ball , Education Services Industry (ESI)

  In recent years there is a tend to privatise important aspects of education . In the process education becomes a source of profit for capitalists in what Ball calls the education services industry. Private companies in the ESI are involved in an ever increasing range of activities in education (includes building schools , providing teachers, ofsted inspection services)
• Many of these activities are very profitable , according to ball 2007 companies involved in such work expect to make up 10x as much profit as they do on other contracts.
