• Stewardship


  -Christians believe God gave humans the privilege of living on earth.

  • Therefore we have responsibility to look after the planet.
  • Stewardship is looking after the world on the behalf of God.
• Animal experimentation- CHRISTIANITY


  -All life is sacred.

  -May be carried out caringly and only if needed e.g. a drug that could save millions.
• Animal experimentation- BUDDHISM


  -Should show compassion.

  -Some say there are alternative methods.

  -Others say may benefit lots of people BUT must be carried out caringly.

  -To test medicines and cosmetics.

  -They test on animals such as dogs or rabbits to make sure it is safe for humans
• How can we stop the abuse? - CHRISTIANITY

  Assisi and Ohito meeting:

  -Leaders from different countries came together to discuss their faith and how they can help the environment.

  Therefore we cannot just do what we want with the world just because god gave us control over it, we should care for it.
• Protecting the environment- BUDDHISM.

  Holy Isle Project:

  Buddhists set up a centre in a small island off the coast of Scotland.

  They take care of the environment using natural resources like seaweed used to restore soil, make furniture using substantiable food source

  -The second noble truth is greed- prevent greed, stop suffering, overconsumption

  -First moral precept- for the future generation

  -Dependent arising= we depend on the earth so we cannot destroy
