  • Media - is the main means of mass communication regarded collectively. It is used to transfer information to an audience for mass informing.
  • Three types of Media :
    •Print Media
    •Broadcast Media
    •New Media
  • Print Media - refers to paper publications circulated in the form of physical editions of books, magazines, journals and newsletters.
  • Books - a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers.
  • Newspaper - a printed publication (usually issued daily or weekly) consisting of folded unstapled sheets and containing news, feature articles advertisements, and correspondence
  • Magazines - a periodical publication containin articles and illustrations, typically covering a particu subject or area of interest
  • Pamphlets - a printed sheet of paper, sometimes folded, containing information or advertising and usually distributed free
  • Billboard - a large outdoor board for displaying advertisements.
  • Broadcast Media - is the most expedient means to transmit information immediately to the widest possible audience, although the Internet currently challenges television as the primary source of news. Most people now get their daily news through broadcast, rather than printed, media
  • Radio - the transmission and reception of electromagnetic waves of radio frequency, especially those carrying sound messages.
  • Television - system for transmitting visual images and sound that are reproduced on screens, chief ly used to broadcast programs for entertainment, information, and education
  • Movie/Film - A film, also called a movie, motion picture, theatrical film or photoplay, is a series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to the phenomenon
  • New Media - used to describe content made available using different forms of electronic communication made possible through the use of computer technology
  • Website - a location connected to the Internet that maintains one or more pages on the World Wide Web
  • Blog - a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.
  • Streaming - a method of transmitting or receiving data (especially video and audio material) over a computer network as a steady, continuous f bw, allowing playback to proceed while subsequent data is being received.
  • Email - messages distributed by electronic means from one computer user to one or more recipients via a network
  • Chat Room - an area on the Internet or other computer network where users can communicate, typically limiting communication to a particular topic
  • Social media - is the collective of online communications channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction, content-sharing and collaboration
  • Cellphone - Small wireless device that has at least the same functions of a standard wired telephone but is smaller and more mobile.
  • Weh Advertising - Online advertising, also called online marketing or Internet advertising or web advertising, is a form of marketing and advertising which uses the Internet to deliver promotional marketing messages to consumers
  • Digital Camera - or digicam is a camera that encodes digital images and videos digitally and stores them for later reproduction.
  • Six types of Moving Images :
    •Pan
    •Tracking
    •Tilt
    •Crane
    Handheld
    •Zoom
  • Pan (short for panorama) - The camera moves horizontally from static position.
  • Tracking or Dolly - the camera moves on tracks (or wheels) to give a smooth movement
  • Tilt - The camera moves up or down vertically from static position.
  • Crane - The camera is moved on a device that can move up and down and laterally (the ultimate crane shot is the helicopter shot).
  • Handheld - Gives the frame a shaky look, often used as a point-of- view shot.
  • Zoom - Technically no movement, but the change of the focal length bringing us closer or further away from the object in the frame.
  • Mise-en-scene means "put into the scene" refers to anything that goes in to a shot including set, props, actors, costumes, camera movements and performances
  • Three main part of Mise-en-scene:
    •The subject
    •The Lighting
    •The setting
