  • verbs of the senses: Unlike most verbs, verbs that are associated with the 5 senses are followed by adjectives
  • words that can be both adjectives and adverbs:
    1. some words that end in "ly" like "early" "daily" and "only" can be used as adjectives and adverbs depending on what they're describing
    2. words like "fast" "long" and "hard" can also be used as both
  • Good and well:
    1. Good is used as an adjective
    2. Well is usually an adverb, but is an adjective when describing someone's health
  • bad and badly:
    1. bad is an adjective and also is used for describing linking verbs and verbs of the senses
    2. Badly is an adverb and describes an action
  • Illogical sentence construction:
    1. Don't say "a _ is when" or "is where" because its important to tell what a thing is, rather than when or where it is
    2. Each part of a sentence should agree logically with other parts.
