  • Despite being a member of the Entente, Italy stayed out of the war until 1915, when it joined the Allies
  • The Italians attempted to attack Austria-Hungary through the Alps

  • In November 1912, the Germans defeated Italy at the Battle of Caporetto and nearly knocked them out of the war completely
