Culturing microorganisms-method
1. place paper discs soaked in different types of antibiotics on agar plate
2. antibiotic resistance bacteria will grow around disc, but an inhibition zone will be left where bacteria have died
3. use a control disc to ensure the effect of the antibiotic is the only variable creating inhibition zones
4. leave the plate for 48 hours at a temperature of 25 degrees
5. calculate size of inhibition zone on lid of Petri dish using area a circle equation, the more effective the antibiotic, the larger the inhibition Zone
