• There were peasant uprising in 1921 which partially led to the NEP which improved economic conditions for the peasants
• Peasans revolts were brutally crushed by the Red Army and led to increased repression
• Although the practical of opposition is limited, it forced the introduction of the NEP to reduce the threat of unrest. This clearly went against communist ideology and so signifies compromise
