• The All Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party and the Left and right Socialist Revolutionaries were responsible for around 2000 political killings from 1901 to 1905.
• The Union of Unions formed in April 1905, which called for an alliance of all groups who opposed the Tsar to unite and fight for a new constitution. Hundreds of zemstvos, city councils and other organisations sent petitions to the Tsar calling for political reform
• The Progressive Bloc in the Duma played a role in forcing NII to abdicate
