Lenin

• There was immediate opposition from Mensehviks and the Right SRs after the seizure of power
• Party opposition had a limited effect because in 1921, Lenin presented a paper 'On Party Unity' which banned factionalism within the Bolsheviks and laid the base for banning all other parties
• Kamanev, Zinoviev and Rykov called for a coalition to be formed with other socialist groups. This was also the formation of the Trimuvirate
