Hypotenuse- it is always the longest side of a triangle and it is always opposite of the right triangle.
Leg rule- the leg of each rule of the right triangle is the geometric mean of the lengths of the hypotenuse and the segment of the hypotenuse adjacent to the leg.
30-60-90:
Hypotenuse= 2 x shorter leg
Longer leg= shorter leg x √3
Shorter leg= hypotenuse/2
Shorter leg= longer/√3
Altitude- separates the right triangle into two triangles which are similar to each other and to the original triangle.
Pythagoras (570-495 BC)
Born in Samos, Greece
Pythagoras of Samos is his full name
Books: The Golden verses of pythagoras, the life and philosopy of pythagoras, influence of pythagoras on freemasonry
Pythagorean theorem- in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the legs.
