Islam

• Islam is one of the most dominant religions and belief

  systems in the world. Followers of this religion are

  called Muslims.
• Islam is a monotheistic

  religion that believes in the sanctity of the unity of God

  and His prophet Muhammad, His last messenger.
• Islam began in the early 7th century in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, a 40-year-old merchant and trader with an honorable reputation, saw the inequality and crisis of values in his society.
• One day, Archangel Gabriel appeared to

  him and asked him to read. Even though he knew he was illiterate, he was able to understand the message of the angel.
• Islam began in the early 7th century in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
• Muhammad

  realized that peace is the way of Islam. He went back to Mecca, and this pilgrimage and

  journey were known as Hajj.
• The Quran is composed of 114 chapters.
• These are the

  Sunnah, which are the examples and practices of Prophet Muhammad's life,
• The Hadith has two types:

  ● The sacred - these are sacred sayings from Allah quoted by Muhammad that are

  not found in the Quran

  ● The prophetic - these are wise sayings from the Prophet Muhammad himself
• Islam 6 main beliefs

  Belief in Allah the only God (Tawhid)

  Belief in angels (Malaikah)

  Belief in the holy books (Kutub)

  Belief in the prophets (Nubuwwah)

  Belief in the day of judgement (Akhirah)

  Belief in predestination (Al-Qadr)
