  Flat land near rivers that can get flooded when the river water rises

  Natural environments where plants and animals live that provides them with food, water, shelter and space

  Old and important buildings that are protected because they are a part of history

  Basic systems and services that a place needs e.g.: roads, electricity, water supply
• Renewable energy

  Energy that comes from sources that wont run out like wind, the sun and water
• Solar farm

  Big area with lots of solar panels that generates electricity from the sun
• Sustainability

  Maintaining our environment and resources in a good condition so future generations can also use them
• Sustainable settlement

  Places where people live that are not built to harm the environment, using materials that keep the air and water clean
• Sustainable transport

  Ways of getting around where the environment is not significantly damaged e.g. : walking, cycling, bus, train and driving electric cars
• Unsustainable

  Doing things in a way that will harm the environment or use up resources so that they are not there for future generations
• Urban Sprawl

  Uncontrolled spread of urban areas into surrounding rural ones
