his
blood-shadow
stays on the
street
persistant
reminder of what he's done,
foreshadows the
memories
that are going to
haunt
him for
life
shadow =
lingering
memory
his
bloody
life in my
bloody
hands
taking responsibility for what hes done,
"bloody" could be taken literally, as it was a bloody death, and there's blood on his hands
or, could be seen as him swearing as a form of anger, frustration and guilt
end of story, except
not
really
the
war
is over, but he still has the
lingering memory
of
killing
people, hes developing
PTSD
i see
broad daylight
on the other
side
the
grotesque
image
exagerates
power of
weapon
, but also shows a
harsh
reality
could also be an
exageration
to what the soldier sees, he's not ready for the
reality
of war so he makes everything seem
worse
in his
head
sort of
inside out
struggling to define what he's seeing,
childish
description, in his mind he's still a
child
and is not ready to face the
war
they have been
dehumanised
to the point where it's hard to believe they were
breathing
a
moment
ago.
he's here in my head when i close my eyes
he has no
escapism
, just like the
victims
had
none
either
