  • Formula for finding volume of a stone;
    Final - Initial.
  • To find the mass, we use a scale.
  • Volume of stone;
    -Find the volume using displacement can or measuring cylinder. AND -Find mass using scale. AND -Derive Density.
  • Density Formula;
    mass over volume.
  • Gas;
    -Calculate the volume of the container. AND -Weight the container with gas/air. AND -Vacuum the container. AND -weight container without gas. AND -Find weight of gas by subtracting. AND -Calculate density.
  • Relative Density;
    Relative Density - Tells you how many times a substance is denser than water.
  • Relative Density Formula;
    Density of substance (OVER) Density of water.
  • Relative Density;
    -Relative density has no units. AND -If relative density is greater than one (1) the object sinks. If the object is less than one (1), It floats.
  • Relative Density;
    If relative density is greater than one (1), It sinks. If relative density is less than one (1), It floats.
  • Density;
    Density is mass over volume/mass per unit over substance.
  • Lunar Eclipse;
    A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the moon passes into the shadow produced by the earth, on the side facing away from the sun.
  • Lunar Eclipse;
    As the moon does not produce it's own light, it looks even darker in the Earth's shadow during a Lunar Eclipse.
  • Lunar Eclipse;
    When the moon passes through the Earth's Penumbra, (Partial shadow) we see a particular eclipse.
  • Lunar Eclipse;

    When the moon passes through the Earth's Umbra (Full shadow) we see a total eclipse.
  • Lunar Eclipse;

    Light refracted by the Earth's atmosphere causes the moon to look red.
