  • Education is a key part of our lives. It is how we learn the skills needed for later in life, to get a job and support ourselves. Those who are privately educated are less likely to live in poverty. This is because they often have less financial barriers throughout their school experience and attend schools with plentiful resources.

    Students in England have to pay for university and many need to take out loans each year to cover their tuition. However all students in Scotland receive free university tuition, removing many financial barriers to attaining higher education.
  • Pupils from the poorest...
    Pupils from the poorest 20% of households were three times more likely to leave school with zero highers, compared with the richest 20%.
