Innercore
- the
innermost
layer of Earth.
The
Inner-core
is made out of
iron-nickel
alloy.
The
outer-core
is made out of
iron
,
nickel
,
sulfur
, and
oxygen.
The metals within the
outer-core
flows around the whole layer producing a
magnetic-field
and that acts as the Earths
Shield.
The third layer is the
Mantle.
It is also made out of
iron
,
oxygen
,
silicon
,
magnesium
, and
aluminum.
Crust
- The
outermost
and
thinnest
layer of Earth.
Continental-Plates
- The
continents
on Earth.
Oceanic-Plates
- Are
beneath
the ocean.
Transform Boundary
- When two plates
slide
past each other.
Convergent Boundary
- This is where two plates move
toward
each other.
Divergent
Boundary - Where
two
plates are moving
away
from each other.
Earthquake
- Is The
shaking
of the surface of the
earth.
Tectonic
Earthquakes - It occurs when plates
bump
or
scrape
as they slide along each other.
Hypocenter
- This is where the
pressure
has built up. This is also known as
focus.
Focus
- The point of
origin
of the earthquake.
Magnitude
- Amount of
energy
released by an earthquake.
Seismograph
- Shows how large an
earthquake
was.
Intensity
- Is the
strength
of an Earthquake.
Rossi-Forel
Scale - One of the first seismic scales to measure the
intensity
of the Earthquake.

- Felt by many people indoors.

- Generally felt by most people.

- People are panicky.

- People are forcibly thrown to the ground.
Completely-Devastating
- Practically all mad-made structures are destroyed.
Ground-Rupture
- The earthquake
breaks
the ground apart.
