    Place for prayer and worship. Torah is red 4 times using yad and is read by rabbi. Jews surround themselves with different items in the synagogue to support worship, such as the Ner Tamid and Aron Hakodesh.

    Jewish diaspora assemble in the synagogue as a community on the Sabbath day. Jews call their congregational worship the minyan. Requires at least 10 Jewish men to carry out public worship.

    Synagogue is a place to study the word of God, Jews will study the Torah and learn from the rabbi about their faith. Shul means to study

    Shabbat and celebrations happen in the synagogue e.g. Bar Mitzvah, weddings and funerals. Shabbat takes place Friday sunset to Saturday sunset and this is the Jewish day of rest
