    • congenital talipes equinovarus
    • inversion of the heel(foot turned inwards)
    • plantarflextion of the forefoot on the hindfoot
    • forefoot adduction with supination(forefoot is inverted and turned slightly upward
    • assessment- family history of foot deformities and obstetric history of breech position, inspect foot at rest, preform ROM, note inability to move foot into normal positioning at midline
    • management: neuromuscular assessments and cast care for those who require casting, pain assessment, emotional support, family teaching
    • goal: achievement of a functional foot, treatment starts as soon after birth as possible
    • therapeutic management: weekly manipulation with serial cast changes is preformed, after cast changes occur every 2 weeks
    • Therapeutic management: some require corrective shoes or bracing, sometimes surgical release of soft tissue is required
    • Therapeutic management: following surgery the foot is immobilized for up to 12 weeks, ankle-foot orthoses or corrective shoes are used for several years
    • Therapeutic management: botox has also been used to successfully treat clubfoot, eliminating the need for surgery
