Unconscious Proprioception

• Upper limb - unconscious proprioception

  Proprioceptors project through dorsal column -> to the external cuneate nucleus (next to cuneate nucleus in medulla) -> sends projects to cerebellum -> integrates proprioceptive information with descending motor commands 

  
• Lower limb - unconscious proprioception

  Proprioceptors project up through the dorsal column -> once they get into the centre of the neuroaxis, project to Clarke’s nucleus (C8-L3) -> projects through dorsal spinocerebellar tract -> projects to cerebellum -> integrates proprioceptive information w/ descending motor commands
