Venus shrouds Aeneas in an invisible mist and he walks to Carthage, seeing a temple to Juno with carvings of the battle of Troy
The men Aeneas thought had drowned arrive in Carthage and are welcomed by Dido; Aeneas, seeing their welcome, reveals himself
Dido lays a banquet out in Aeneas' honour and Venus, think that Juno will do something to hurt Aeneas, sends Cupid to shoot Dido and make her fall in love with Aeneas
