• there was no significant differences in the midbrain and cerebellum
• murderers showed abnormal symmetry of activity
• murderers showed increased activity in occipital lobe
• raine stated that the findings cannot demonstrate that violence is determined by biology
• Raine made it clear that other factors also play a role in predisposing to violence eg. situational and social
• data does not show that meurderers pleading NGRI are not responsible for their crimes but PET scans can be used as a diagnostic technique
• the findings do not establish causal link between brain dysfunction and violence and cannot be generalised to other types of violent offenders
