• Among full time employees the gender pay gap in April 2021 was 7.9%.
• The gender pay gap is decreasing, however it still has a significant impact on income and earning.
• Compared with lower-paid employees, higher earners experience a much larger difference in hourly pay between the sexes.
• In 2022 the Guardian reported that on average women were only earning 90p to every £1 of men.
• For age groups 40 to 49 years and older, the gender pay gap for full-time employees is much higher, at approximately 12%.
