  • Assisted suicide would therefore be morally right when it maximises loving kindness or agape in a pragmatic way (so that it will work in practice), takes account of the specifics of the situation, makes a positive value judgement, and puts people (or persons) first.
  • Situation Ethics is likely to approve of assisted suicide in cases where:
    · It provides relief from demoralizing pain where there is no further possibility of serving others.
    · There is an absence of the personal qualities of freedom, knowledge, self-possession and control, and responsibility.
