Tropical forest

• constantly high temperature during the year
• mean annual temperature in the coldest months of 18 degrees C or difference less than 5 degrees C between mean temperatures of the warmest and coldest month
• diurnal climate - temperature differences between day and night exceed those of the differences during the year
• rain forests develop where every month has high precipitation (>100 mm), combined with only short dry periods (1-2 moth)
• Rainforests are tall growing forests with a closed canopy
