    • not really 1 specific coordinated event, more a spontaneous culmination of lots of separate people's grievances- popular revolution
    • social unrest- worker rights, womens rights

    • Tsar's corruption, october manifesto not met etc
    • the war effort, people wanted out
  • February Revolution- events
    • 14th- 100k workers strike over bread rationing, its a violent protest police struggle to control
    • 22nd- 20k workers locked out after pay talks collapse with Steel Works
    • 23rd- international women's day, 90k people strike after 50 factories close, they join with the women's march to form 240k strikers
    • 24th- explicit anti tsarist march 200k people, calling for his removal and pulling down tsarist iconography
    • 25th- 250k strike, Cossacks (ukranian law enforcement) refuse to attack protestors
  • February revolution events pt2
    • 26th- Rodzianko, duma president, warns tsar of dire circumstances via telegram
    • 27th- Duma dissolves and PG forms. Tsar orders for a forceful restoration of order 60k soldiers mutiny, joining the protest. PS is set up to organise food.
    • 28th- Tsar attempts to return from the front, offering compromise, Rodzianko turns him down. Nicholas' train is then diverted by the railworkers
    • 2nd March- he abdicated, his son too sick and brother unwilling to take the throne, the 300 year romanov dynasty comes to an end
