    Tensions over parliamentary privilege in Buckinghamshire election and Shirley case. Resolved in part due to James' pragmatism. Tensions over Union. Tensions over finance- Great contract. Dissolved due to financial tensions but partnership of Monarch and Parliament still strong

    Called to resolved financial issue.James managed it badly. Lasted 8 weeks

    Marked by disputes over monopolies, factionalism and Spanish marriage. Not necessarily disputes between crown- Parliament split but factional infighting-Buckingham, Coke and Cranfield against Bacon. Mps encouraged to discuss Spanish marriage but then James disliked their view - he felt their petition against the Spanish marriage undermined his prerogative
