    Also called Return Address and Letterhead, this bears the necessary information about your identity as the letter sender. These include your full name, complete address, contact numbers, and e-mail address.

    This is the date when you wrote the letter. It comes immediately after the heading.
  • Inside Address
    This is the component of the letter that has the necessary information about the identity of the person you are writing to. These include the recipient's full name and designation, the company or institution in which the recipient is affiliated, the address of the company or institution, and postal code.
  • Salutation
    This is also referred to as a greeting. Generically, salutation starts with "Dear" and followed by the last name of the recipient.
  • Body
    The body is the meat of the letter that is presented through paragraphs. In an application letter, it is the part where you explain your purpose in writing the letter and reasons why you are qualified for the position.
  • Complimentary Close
    This component of the letter signals the closing of your letter. It is a short polite closing that ends with a comma (,).
