  • plenty of jobs
  • better education for kids
  • better things to do (bright lights syndrome)
• push factors:

  • drought (can't grow crops)
  • lack of clean drinking water
  • lack of heathcare
• Dharavi is one of the world's largest slums. it is 1 mile/2 and home to 1 million people.
• problems in Dharavi:

  • residents of Dharavi have no permission to be there (they live there illegally)
  • this means the local authorities have no obligations to install facilities that will improve the slums (e.g piped water, electricity)
