  • A leading question is a question which suggests a certain answer, because of the way it is phrased.
  • Memory bias - when a leading question has no lasting effect on an eye witnesses memory of an event, but influences the choice of answer given.
  • Memory substitution - the wording of a leading question does affect eye witness memory, it interferes with its original memory, distorting the accuracy of the stored memory.
