  • Permanent
    This contract is one that does not have an end date. The employee is employed for the foreseeable future. It is a safe, secure job.
  • Temporary
    This contract is one that does not last indefinitely but the date when the employment ends is not specifically stated.
  • Fixed-Term
    This contract is for a specified period of time. The contract will state an end date e.g. a one year contract.
  • Zero-hours
    This contract is one where the employer has no obligation to offer the employee a specified number of hours work, but the employee has an obligation to accept the employment assignments offered.
  • Casual
    This contract is one where the employer isn't obliged to offer any work. However, with this type of contract, the employee is not obliged to accept work when offered.
