the ROTC in particular gives emphasis to citizenship training and instills patriotism, moral virtues, and respects for the rights of civilians, and adherence to the Constitution.
High quality Service Learning projects have the following characteristics (essential Characteristics): Integratedlearning,studentvoice,collaboration,Reflection,Highqualityvoice,Responsibility,Evaluation.
NSTP components shall be undertaken for an academic period of two (2) semesters. It shall be credited three (3) units per semester, for a duration of 54hours to 90 training hours per semester.

NSTPCoordinator/Director is the key player in making Service Learning a success. It is his job to orchestrate an effective Service Learning strategy.
DevelopmentConcept- it is the ultimate objective of society as a whole and it’s not only on individual level but "communal," or community-based which implies that development activities must be supported by a joint effort and spirit.
Need-basedConcept- the process of getting people's acts together and foremost focus is to recognized requirements correctly in order for any development program or activity to be relevant and responsive to these needs.
ParticipativeConcept- people will find joy in having a role in bringing about change and progress in their local communities. This implies that community members will immediately identify with the adjustments and improvements.
Communitydevelopment is getting things done through people working happily together, thereby, giving them the confidence, competence, and satisfaction as worthy citizens in a community.
Socialmobilization, being the process of getting people's acts together, must primarily focus on the felt needs of the targets of development in a community.
Needs must first be properly identified so that any development program or activity will be relevant and responsive to these needs.
The development concept in social mobilization is “communal” or community-based, not individual-based because that would be slow and of little impact.
