Newtons 1st law

Cards (4)

  • Newton's First Law
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force
  • Newton's First Law

The behaviour of all objects can be described by saying that objects tend to "keep on doing what they're doing" (unless acted upon by an unbalanced force)
  • Newton's First Law
All objects resist changes in their state of motion - they tend to "keep on doing what they're doing." This resistance is called inertia. The more inertia, the higher the mass of the object.
  • Newton's First Law
    • When a bus suddenly starts, the passengers sitting or standing in the bus tend to fall backward.
