Newtons 2nd Law

Cards (8)

  • Newton's Second Law
Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object).
  • Newton's Second Law
The more massive an object, the greater the force needed to accelerate it.
  • Newton's Second Law
    1. Force = mass x acceleration
    2. F=ma
  • Newton's Second Law
    1. Mass = Force/acceleration
    2. Acceleration = Force/mass
  • When there is more then one force being applied, then there is a net force
  • Everyone unconsciously knows the Second Law
  • Everyone knows that heavier objects require more force to move the same distance as lighter objects
  • Newton's Second Law
    • Your friend gets in his car. You push the car and it is very difficult to move. You push harder, and it barely begins to move. All your friends together push the car. It moves faster and faster.
