  • Gregor Mendel - Biologist, Mathematician, Meteorologist. He was born on July 20, 1822.
  • Mendel's Pea Plant Experiment was conducted between 1856 to 1863.
  • Genetics - Study of Heredity; how traits are passed from parents to offspring.
  • Heredity - The passing of physical characteristics genetically from one person to another. This is what we call inheritance or biological inheritance.
  • Inheritance traits are controlled by genes.
  • Genes - The basic unit of heredity. They are made up of sequences of DNA and are arranged, one after the other at specific locations on chromosomes in the nucleus of cells.
  • DNA - Deoxyribonucleic Acid
