Disadvantages of a Written Survey

Cards (4)

  • Low number of responses
The number of responses is usually low making it difficult to gather enough feedback to create a clear and accurate picture of the level of service offered.
  • Take time to complete
As written surveys take time to complete, often the only people completing them are the people that are strongly happy or strongly unhappy with the customer service. This therefore does not given an accurate picture of the level of service offered.
  • Time consuming
Written surveys need to be prepared, printed and sent out and it may take some time for responses to be returned.
  • Question clarification is not instant
If questions are not understood, customers cannot get instant clarification, therefore their answer may not match the question, resulting in inaccurate feedback.
