Tanaquil grabbed Servius and told him that the throne is his. She then went to an upper room where she flung open a window and shouted that Tarquinius was getting better and Servius would take his place while he was getting better. Servius was dressed as king and presided over court cases, pretending he was just standing in for Tarquinius until he recovered.
