    These religious and spiritual beliefs influence feelings about morality, sexual behaviors, premarital sexual behavior, adultery, divorce, contraception, abortion, and masturbation.
  • Multicultural Influences
    Culture influences one's sexuality and sexual expressions - beliefs regarding appropriate partner/s, appropriate age of marriage, family and household systems, differences in values, expectations, etc.
  • Ethical Influences
    Ethics and religion often provide the framework within which people judge the rightness or wrongness of sexual activity and expressions. They influence the way individuals of the society regard sexuality & behavior.
  • Young people are influenced by a range of individual and social factors. They are the most vulnerable to reproductive and sex issues than the others.
    1. SELF
    Your "self" influences how you think and feel based on what you believe, how you see yourself, and what's happened to you in the past.
  • The adolescent should be guided to develop the following attitudes and practices on sexuality:
    • Accept and gain respect for his/her body.
    • Be aware of sexuality issues.
    • Take responsibility for own behaviors.
    • Attain highest standard of sexual health, including access to sexual and reproductive health care services.
  • FAMILY
    The normal and usual place for forming young people to consolidate and exercise the virtues of charity, temperance, fortitude, and chastity. The family is the school of the richest humanity.
  • Parents must find time to be with their children and take time to talk with them. Children are more important than work, entertainment, and social position.
  • The family should guide the adolescent to develop the following attitudes and practices on sexuality:
    Communicate with family effectively.
    Express love and concern to parents, siblings, and family.
    Perform duties and responsibilities at home
  • Peers and Friends
    Sexual rights embrace human rights already recognized in national laws, international human rights documents, and other consensus statements.
  • Peers and friends should help to develop the following attitudes and practices on sexuality:
    Express love and intimacy in appropriate ways.
    Interact with both genders effectively.
    Respect both genders in all aspect.
    Pursue a satisfying, safe, and pleasurable sexual life.
  • School and Church
    The church and the school play a vital role in helping parents influence their adolescents' understanding about sexuality and to help them make responsible and healthy sexual choices now and in the future. Many religious traditions and schools promote a sexual ethic that is summarized as chastity in singleness and fidelity in marriage.

    Exposure to media messages is a part of today's life, and the youth can be guided to direct their energies to what is worth paying attention to. With teenagers exposed to the mass media, they tend to absorb other people's opinions and start looking up to different celebrities. Teenagers emulate them and are influenced to change their attitudes and behaviors too

  • Homosexuality - This is the sexual attraction to the same sex. People with a homosexual orientation can express their sexuality in a variety of ways.
  • Premarital Sex - This is any sexual activity with an opposite sex partner or with a same sex partner before he/she starts a married life
