  • Monera - small, single cell, no nucleus eg bacteria, viruses.
  • Protista - mainly small ,single cell with nucleus eg amoeba ,algae (eg seaweed ,plankton).
  • Fungi - thread-like , no chlorophyll ,heterotrophic eg rhizopus (bread mould) ,yeast.
  • Plants - multicellular ,chlorophyll present ,autotrophic eg mosses, ferns, trees, flowers.
  • Animals - multicellular , no chlorophyll , heterotrophic eg humans, monkeys, fish, birds, worms.
  • Heterotroph - these cannot make their own food internally eg all animals.
  • Autotroph - these can make their own food internally eg plants.
  • Species - this is organisms that are similar enough to be able eto interbreed and produce fertile offspring eg humans interbreed with each other ,dogs interbreed with each other ect.
  • NOTE - donkeys and horses can interbreed to produce a mule. However a mule is not fertile and cannot produce more offspring.THerefore the mule species cannot continue.
