• Lung tumor

  • Insufficient effective lung tissue for oxygen absorption into the body to sustain life
  • Tumor erodes into an artery/ obstructe a bronchus --> affected part then collapses and often becomes infected
• Bone and bone marrow

  • In bone cancer cases, calcium is released into the blood stream, affecting the homeostasis
  • Bone = storage site of calcium; Calcium = regulate nerve transmission (e.g. muscle contraction)
  • Bone marrow: Production of blood cells (red blood cells and white blood cells) affected; Anemia (low RBC) and bacterial and/or viral infection (low WBC) are common
