  • People as Media

    They act as the media itself. They are people who give and/or share information to other people for them to have new knowledge.
  • People in Media

    They are those who control media. These are people behind any forms of media – such as ads, videos, etc – that access information and acquire new knowledge.
  • Journalist
    • Tells exactly what happened and when, who are involved, and how or why this incident or event will affect others.
  • Writers and Authors
    Writers employ creative and literary styles while authors write papers that are more scholarly and academic in nature like a textbook or a novel.
  • Editors
    • Ensures that the author's work is worth publishing
  • Layout artist or Graphic Artist
    • A person who is responsible for the overall presentation of a printed material, from text to images.
  • Photographers
    • Artistically captures images that will be used to accompany a written material or to visually represent a concept or idea.
  • Art directors
    • In charge of the overall concept of the material in terms of art, design, and graphics.
  • Publishers
    • Responsible for financing and handling the cost of production in order to print a material, like newspapers, textbooks, or magazine.
  • Reporter
    • In charge of delivering the news to the public.
  • News Anchor
    • Delivers the news in a studio, either through a TV or a radio program in real time. Also called a newscaster
  • TV or program host
    • In charge of facilitating or managing the flow of the entire program, including conversations with the guests.
  • Scriptwriter
    • Writes the script for a TV or a radio show, movie, or stage play.
  • Directors
    • Supervises and instructs the hosts and performers on how they should perform, act, or move in a program based on the script.
  • Producer
    • Finances the show or movie.
  • Media practitioners
    They provide information coming from their expert knowledge or first- hand experience of events.

    They are those involved in the media forms that they are primarily engage in print, broadcast, film, new media, and gaming.

    A simple and flexible format of presenting information or conveying ideas whether handwritten printed or displayed on-screen.
  • TXT (text)
    Unformatted text document by an editor as notepad on Windows platform
  • DOC (document)
    A native format for storing documents created by MS Word package and contain a rich set of formatting capabilities
  • RTF (Rich Text Format)
    Cross platform document exchange; default format for Mac OS X's default editor TextEdit
  • PDF (Portable Document Format)
    Developed by Adobe systems for cross platform exchange of documents, supports image and graphics
  • PS (PostScript)
    A page description language used mainly for desktop publishing
  • TIFF Tagged Image File Format
    are lossless images files meaning that they do not need to compress or lose any image quality or information (although there are options for compression), allowing for very highquality images but also larger file sizes.
  • BMP Bitmap Image File
    is a format developed by Microsoft for Windows. There is no compression or information loss with files which allow images to have very high quality, but also very large file sizes. Due to being a proprietary format, it is generally recommended to use TIFF files.
  • JPEG Joint Photographic Experts Groups

    for is a "lossy" format meaning that the image is compressed to make a smaller file. The compression does create a loss in quality but this loss is generally not noticeable. files are very common on the Internet and is a popular format for digital cameras - making it ideal for web use and non-professional prints.
  • GIF Graphics Interchange Format
    files are widely used for web graphics, because they are limited to only 256 colors, can allow for transparency, and can be animated. files are typically small is size and are very portable.
  • PNG Portable Network Graphics
    files are a lossless image format originally designed to improve upon and replace the gif format. files are able to handle up to 16 million colors, unlike the 256 colors supported by GIF.
