• Church believes in the sanctity of life (life is sacred, precious and God-given) and therefore God has the right to end life.
• For a human to end a life it goes against the commandment "Thou shall not kill"
• Church believes in alternatives such as hospice and to allow one case of euthanasia is to start a 'slippery slope', allowing involuntary (when someone else decides that it would be in the person's best interest if their life was ended [e.g. accident that will lead to a painful death]) euthanasia to take place
