    Artists use color to convey feelings and moods within their painting. Warm colors: red, orange, yellow. Cool colors: blue, green, violet. Complementary colors: blue and orange, red and green, yellow and purple.
  • Shapes
    • Artists use shapes to convey ideas. Geometric and organic shapes.
  • Texture
    Element that appeals to our sense of feel on things- rough or smooth, bumpy or slippery. Real texture is the actual texture of an object. Implied texture made a piece of art to look like a certain texture.
  • Value
    Lightness or darkness of a color in a given artwork. Tint refers to the lightness of a color. Shade refers to the darkness of a color.

    Three-dimensionality of an object, with dimensions of height, width, and length.
