  The fact they believed they were winning the war, they believed if they kept fighting rather than signing that they would have won

  Germany had to accept responsibility for the war and all damage done

  ONLY 100,000 men in the army

  Lost 10% of their land which had 13%of the population
• They had to accept the independence of countries such as Poland, Austria and Czechoslovakia
• Had to return land to France including Alsace-Lorraine
• The League of Nations

  This was set-up to stop international conflict/wars and banned Germany from joining
