The NT is a collection of 27 books, all written within 100 years Jesus' Death. Most of the Books were written before the beginning of the second Century

We have Four Gospels
Each of the four gospels like Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John paints a unique portrait of Jesus. They show us the same Jesus but portray him from different perspectives
There is in reality only one gospel running through all of the Christian scriptures, THE GOSPEL OF AND ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Matthew
Presents Jesus as the Jewish Messiah, the fulfillment of Old Testament
Mark
Portrays Jesus as the suffering Son of God, who offers himself as a sacrifice for sins
Luke
Presents Jesus as the Savior for all people, who brings salvation to all nations and people groups
John
Presents Jesus as the eternal Son of God, the self-revelation of God the Father
Synoptic Gospels
The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, which because of of their similarities can be "Seen together" in parallel columns and mutually compared
John's Gospel offers a portrait of Jesus which includes special emphasis on divinity revealed in the humanity of Jesus

Presents Jesus as the Messiah, the long-awaited Messiah, the promised king of Israel who fulfills the prophecies of the Old Testament
Highlights Jesus' lineage, his birth in Bethlehem, and his triumphal entry into Jerusalem as evidence of his messianic identity
Presents Jesus as the new Moses, who brings a new law and covenant to God's people
Gospel of Mark
Reveals the ministry of Jesus with vivid detail and the messages of his teaching are presented more through what he did than what he said
The passion and death of Jesus dominates the Gospel, answering the question "Who is Jesus?" as the suffering and vindicated Son of Man, the Christ and Son of God
Gospel of Luke
Calls upon the Christian disciple to identify with the master Jesus, who is caring and tender toward the poor and lowly, the outcast, the sinner, and the afflicted, toward all those who recognize their dependence on God
Includes Jesus' last supper words "This is my body which is given for you....This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood" and Jesus dying with words of forgiveness
Gospel of John
Presents Jesus as the preexistent and incarnate Word of God who has revealed the Father to us
Written that people may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief the people may have life in His name
