  • Be completely familiar with the organisation's Standing Orders
    To be completely familiar with the organisation's Standing Orders (the rules concerning the organisation and running of meetings) to make sure that the meeting is set up and run according to the rules of the organisation and to be able to correctly deal with any disputes and procedures.
  • Ensure that the previous minutes are a correct record
    The Chairperson must liaise with the Admin Assistant/Secretary before the meeting to ensure that the Minutes of the previous meeting have been prepared and checked.
  • Decide all aspects
    Decide the date, time, location, Agenda items and requirements for the meeting. Pass these to Admin Assistant to deal with.
  • List of attendees
    Pass on the list of attendees to the Admin Assistant so that the correct people can be formally invited.
  • Approve notice of meeting
    Approve the typed up Notice of Meeting and Draft Agenda created by the Admin Assistant.
