  • Writing is a literary skill useful throughout life. It is used in academe and professional setting, helping students and professionals to express themselves in written form.
  • For action and reaction is when an action happens, a person or group give a reaction based on what's happening. A writer brings something out of the reader by making them react to a particular setting.
  • For creative narrative is tantamount to creating something out of nothing, a form of creativity that brings idea to life.
  • For catharsis, which means to cleanse or purge, do not necessarily write to share their thoughts with others, but more to share them with themselves.
  • For progress on chosen field - intends to improve quality life. It prepares you to engage in scientific process of gathering, presenting and interpreting data for the discovery of truth.
  • For persuasion - attempts to convince the readers to make an action based on the argument of the writing.
  • A book review is a critical analysis and evaluation of the quality meaning and significance of a book, often in relation to prior research on the topic. Reviews generally range from 500-1000 words but may
    longer or shorter depending on the length and complexity of the book being reviewed.
  • DESCRIPTIVE REVIEW presents the content and structure of a book as objectively as possible, describing essential information about a book’s purpose and authority.
  • CRITICAL REVIEW describes and evaluates the book in relation to accepted literary and historical standards and supports evidence from the text and, in most cases, in contrast to and in comparison with the research of others.
  • INTRODUCTION. It provides the sufficient background information about the item being reviewed. Presumably, you have chosen your book. To begin, mention the book title and author’s name. Talk about the cover of the book. Write a thesis statement regarding fictional/nonfictional novel
    which briefly describes the quoted material in the book review.
  • BODY (Evaluation/Opinion). You can use quotes to support your argument but make sure that they are not too long, since you do not have much room to write. What themes did the author convey? Where they effectively conveyed? Did you agree with them? Did the book appeal to you either emotionally or logically? Did you like the book? How did this book compare to other books you have read with the same genre, or other books the author has written? What was the author style?
  • CONCLUSION
    Finish book analysis with a concluding sentence to show the bigger picture of the book. Think to yourself, “Is it worth reading?”, and answer the question in black and white. However, write inbetween the lines. Avoid stating “I like/dislike this book.”
