Season of the earth

• seasons - different period of the year that are distinguishing by special weather and climate conditions
• seasons are divided into four:

  • spring
  • summer
  • autumn
  • winter
• axis - an imaginary line passing through the center of the earth that goes through both the north pole and the south pole
• rotation - the spinning motion of the earth around its axis, causing the seasons and it takes 24 hours or one day for the earth to completely rotate around on its axis
• revolution - the earth moves around the sun, it takes 365 and one fourth days or one year for it to complete to move around the sun
• the earth's axis is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees or 24 degrees
• solstices - the axis of the earth points toward or away from the sun
• equinox - the axis of the earth does not points toward or away from the sun

  • rainy season (june - november)
  • dry season (december - may)

• march equinox - the first day is marked by vernal equinox which happens on march 21 or 22, it is spring in the north and autumn in the south
