seasons are divided into four:

axis - an imaginary line passing through the center of the earth that goes through both the north pole and the south pole
rotation - the spinning motion of the earth around its axis, causing the seasons and it takes 24 hours or one day for the earth to completely rotate around on its axis
revolution - the earth moves around the sun, it takes 365 and one fourth days or one year for it to complete to move around the sun
the earth's axis is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees or 24 degrees
solstices - the axis of the earth points toward or away from the sun
equinox - the axis of the earth does not points toward or away from the sun
